The Performance Residency invites dancers, choreographers, composers, and film artists to engage in a paid collaborative creation process. Artists join a dynamic studio process, interact with the local dance community through workshops, and experience the beautiful Northern Michigan landscape through immersive nature labs. The residency culminates in a weekend of evening-length, donation-based performances at the city arts center, with streamed performance for remote audiences.

The Research Residency welcomes artists of all disciplines to engage in a rapid incubator designed for collaborative research and creative development. Embracing site-specific prompts inspired by Traverse City’s unique environmental landscapes, this residency challenges participants to reimagine their processes patterns and embrace new approaches to creative and collaborative work.
